ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson University men's tennis team continued its solid play defeating South Atlantic Conference opponent Carson-Newman, 6-3, on Tuesday afternoon at the AU Tennis Complex.
The victory moves the Trojans to 11-4 overall and 5-1 in conference action while the Eagles fall to 2-10 overall and 0-6 in SAC play.
Fighting back from a 2-1 deficit after the doubles portion, the Trojans earned five out of six singles points to win their sixth match in a row.
Doubles tandem Ignacio Bidegain and Preston Morpeth picked up the doubles point while also winning their singles match at the No. 1 and No. 4 spot, respectively. Sophomore Jeffrey Dayton and juniors Tomas Depiaggio and Hufelder Duarte won each won to set the final score at 6-3.
Anderson will travel to SAC opponent Catawba on tomorrow. First-serve is slated for 1 p.m.
