Men’s Tennis Opens Fall Season with Win over North Greenville; 7-2

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – After jumping out to a 2-1 lead following the doubles round, Anderson University men's tennis continued to dominate the singles portion, as the Trojans open their fall schedule with a 7-2 victory over North Greenville Saturday afternoon at the Vance Tennis Complex.

With the victory, AU moves to 1-0 on the season while North Greenville falls to 0-1.

Playing at the No. 2 position, sophomore Ignacio Bidegain and junior Tomas Depiaggio Calvi defeated Will Greaves and Pierre Bedard, 8-4, while sophomore Preston Morpeth and freshman Simon Wilson put away Edmundo Torres and Austin Schlarb, 8-5 at the No. 3 spot.

The Black and Gold won 5-of-6 singles matches to claim the 7-2 overall win.

Anderson returns to action when it host Emmanuel on Friday Oct. 27th. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.
