Trojans Batter Crusaders, 19-2

BELMONT, N.C. -- Anderson College scored 16 runs in the first four innings and collected 24 total hits to rout Belmont Abbey 19-2 in a CVAC game Sunday afternoon. Anderson, 19-31 overall and 8-15 in the CVAC, broke the game open with an eight-run third. The big hits in the inning were a two-run triple by Kyle Lewis, a two-run double by Jason Jones, and a solo home run by Caleb Owen. Jones finished the game with four RBI. Jared Taylor led the Anderson hit parade with four hits in five trips. Owen and Donavon Schmidt had three hits apiece, while Jones, Jason Ratliff, F.A. Vildosola, John Mac White, and Lewis all had two hits apiece for the Trojans. Seth Thompson provided Anderson's final run with a solo homer in the ninth. Brett Youngblood allowed one run and three hits in five innings to earn the victory. The loss drops Belmont Abbey to 10-42, 5-19. The Trojans will play their regular-season home finale Tuesday at 6 p.m. against Kennesaw State. Season Statistics
