Women’s Track and Field Ranked Eighth in Southeast Region

NEW ORLEANS - After wrapping up its indoor season last weekend at the UCS Invitational, the Anderson University women's track and field team slipped one spot from seventh to eighth in the latest Southeast Region U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll, as released earlier in the week.

Fellow South Atlantic Conference members Wingate and Queens are atop this week's rankings, with the Bulldogs and Royals flipping the top two spots. Wingate moved from the second slot back to No. 1, while the Royals dropped into the second spot.

Conference Carolinas' members Mount Olive and Limestone remained steady at third and fourth, respectively, in the poll, while Mars Hill jumped from eighth to fifth. Clayton State held the sixth spot, while Carson-Newman checked in at No. 7 after slipping two spots.

The Trojans are eighth, with Barton and King (Tenn.) ninth and 10th, respectively.

Anderson is slated to open their outdoor season at Coastal Carolina on March 13-14.
