Women’s Track and Field Jumps to Eighth in Southeast Region

NEW ORLEANS - On the heels of a third-place showing at the inaugural South Atlantic Conference Championships, the Anderson University women's track and field team moved up two spots from 10th to eighth in the Southeast Region in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Outdoor poll, released Tuesday afternoon.

South Atlantic Conference champion Queens remained at the top of the rankings, while league runner-up Wingate stayed second this week. Peach Belt Conference-member Columbus State held on to the third slot, with UNC Pembroke (fourth) and Mount Olive (fifth) swapping spots in the rankings.

Clayton State climbed one spot to sixth this week, with Mars Hill continuing a steady climb to seventh. With the Trojans in eighth, Montevallo is ninth and Limestone fell four spots to 10th.
