Six Trojans Earn Track and Field All-Region Honors

ANDERSON, S.C. - Six Anderson University women's indoor track and field athletes have been named all-region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), as recently announced by the organization.

The top five individuals in each event from each region earned the All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the regions' top three relay teams.

The women saw 525 separate competitors accumulate 776 total honors. Both Samantha Elliot of Johnson C. Smith and Stephanie Rhoden of Benedict topped the list with five All-Region awards apiece. Alabama-Huntsville's women also topped the list for team representation with 34 selections.

No. 1 Adams State and No. 3 Grand Valley State tied for the second-most honors with 27, followed by preseason favorite No. 2 Lincoln (Mo.) with 26. The Northeast-10 Conference men posted a Division II-leading 89 total selections, followed closely by the GLIAC women's 88.
