ANDERSON-While snow was piling up outside of the Abney Center on Sunday night, the Anderson University Lady Trojans were piling up points inside, as they throttled visiting St. Andrews Presbyteian College 103-63. That gives AU their seventh win in their last nine games-it also moves them one step closer to a Conference Carolinas Championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II tournament. "Everybody is 0-0, and if you want it, you have to go and get it," said Lady Trojan guard, Shanice Wilson. "Tonight we started, and Queens is next." Shanice tied her season high (v. Coker) with 21 points, as she was a perfect 6-6 from the field, and 9-10 from the free throw line. Launching from long range was Keana Boyd. The senior standout scored a game high 24 points knocking down 6-9 from beyond the arc. The Lady Trojans came out with intensity, starting the game on a 7-0 run; they would never relinquish that lead. Running a precise half court offense, Alexa Neal just missed her fourth straight double-double as she contributed 15 points and 8 assists. Genia Holbrook worked hard down low and put up a solid 12 points to go along with 3 boards. Defensively, AU was able to keep St. Andrews at bay all night long; the Lady Trojans had 16 steals and 2 blocked shots. But as they prepare to face Queens University (15-12, 14-8) Tuesday, March 3 in Charlotte at Ovens Athletic Center, the Lady Trojans are far from satisfied. "We gotta clean things up when we play next, that is the main thing," said first year head coach Jim Brunelli. "We gotta get into a better rhythm [against Queens]." Coming off a first round bye, a rested Queens University team awaits the red hot Lady Trojans. Anderson split its regular season meetings with the Lady Royals--each team winning at home. AU won a tight 68-65 battle in the Abney Center on January 14, while Queens won at Ovens Athletic Center 60-53. The rubber match is scheduled to tipoff at 7:00 pm. Complete Box Score
