Track and Field Wraps up Competition at ETSU Invitational

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Anderson University track and field teams wrapped up competition on Saturday at ETSU's Buccaneer Invitational inside the Mountain States Health Alliance Athletics Center.

Junior JoLyn Copeland finished seventh in the women's weight throw with a toss of 14.98 meters, while claiming 24th in the women's shot put with a distance of 9.98 meters. Sophomore Morgan Bridges (2:22.42) finished 13th in the women's 800 meter run, with junior Emily Pitts taking 16th in a time of 2:23.98.

Freshman Olivia Rish finished 12th in the women's 3,000 meter run in a time of 11:18.72, with junior Maddie Buddenberg (11:24.80) and freshman Lydia Gambrell (11:27.65) finishing 16th and 17th, respectively. Sophomore Emily Olson was 34th in a time of 12:29.53.

Freshman Olivia Evans finished fifth in the women's mile run in a time of 5:17.26, while junior Abigail Bozarth claimed 12th in a time of 5:28.76.

Freshman Philip Quillen finished 16th in the men's 3,000 meter run in a time of 9:15.23, while John Drummond (9:31.17) placed 24th. Freshman Matthew Burgess finished 26th in a time of 9:33.74, with freshman Riley Dixon (9:48.84) claiming 36th.

Freshman David Rolon (5:05.85) finished 47th in the men's mile run with classmate Hayden Tuten claiming 52nd in a time of 5:14.31. Freshman Connor Wheatley finished 29th in the men's weight throw with a toss of 11.30 meters.

Next up for the Trojans are the South Atlantic Conference Championships, which are slated for Monday, Feb. 19 at the JDL Fast Track.
