Women’s Track and Field Ranked Seventh; Men Tabbed 14th in First USTFCCCA Southeast Region Poll

NEW ORLEANS – The Anderson University women's indoor track and field team is ranked seventh in the first U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) DII Regional Rankings of the season, while the men's squad is 14th in the initial poll, as released Tuesday afternoon.

Queens University of Charlotte tops the Southeast Region and leads six South Atlantic Conference squads among the top 10 women's team in the weekly rankings. Mount Olive and Southern Wesleyan, both from Conference Carolinas, hold the second and third slots, with Lenoir-Rhyne in fourth and Wingate was fifth.

Limestone occupied the No. 6 spot, with the Trojans in seventh. Coker, Carson-Newman and North Greenville rounded out the top 10.

Queens also topped the men's rankings, with Mount Olive and Limestone standing second and third, respectively. Lenoir-Rhyne checked in a No. 5, with Carson-Newman in the sixth slot and North Greenville at No. 7. Barton, UNC Pembroke and Southern Wesleyan rounded out the top-10. Coker claimed the 11th spot, while Clayton State earned the 12th slot. King was 13th with the Trojans taking 14th in the rankings.

The Trojans are scheduled to compete at the Camel City Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C. and East Tennessee State's Buccaneer Invitational on Friday, Feb. 2 in Johnson City, Tenn.
