BREVARD, N.C. - Junior guard Chandler Hash equaled his career-high by pouring in 32 points to help lead Anderson to an 82-60 road win past Brevard in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action Saturday afternoon at Boshamer Gymnasium.

Anderson improved to 11-5 overall and 7-1 in league action by winning its fifth contest in the last six outings and earning its third consecutive road victory. Brevard fell to 2-14 overall and 1-7 in the conference.

Hash was 11-of-16 from the field, including 8-of-13 from beyond the arc and added two assists and a pair of steals. Forward Bo Holston tallied 17 points, a game-high eight rebounds and a season-best five assists, while junior forward Kyle Sledge tossed in 12 points and pulled down six rebounds.

Sophomore Gerel Simmons led the Tornados with 22 points and junior guard Dominique Pickett netted 18 points.

Anderson sophomore guard DJ McGowan ignited an outburst by dropping in a layup just past the midway point of the first half, as the Trojans erupted for 23 unanswered points over a seven-minute span and turned a one-point deficit into a 45-23 lead with less than three minutes left in the half.

Holston scored eight points during the breakout, with McGowan adding six and Hash five, capping the run with a 3-pointer.

The Tornados closed the frame with an 11-2 run to set AU's halftime lead at 47-34.

Brevard trimmed the Trojan advantage to 49-41 at the 17:15 mark of the second stanza, but the Tornados would get no closer, as AU responded with a 16-1 run to open a 23-point cushion with 14:20 remaining in the contest.

The outburst was similar to the earlier run, as McGowan again sparked the offense by connecting on a 3-pointer, and following a Holston free throw, Hash drained four consecutive treys, finishing with his career-high eighth 3-pointer.

Anderson wraps up the first half of its conference schedule by traveling to Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday. Tip-off versus the Bears is slated for 8 p.m.
