ROCK HILL, S.C. - Junior Chandler Hash has been named the South Atlantic Conference men's basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Hash averaged 18 points on the week, helping extend the Trojans' win streak to four games, including a pair of conference wins on the week. The 6-foot guard was a perfect 5-of-5 from beyond the arc in the opening minutes of Saturday's win past Catawba, helping fuel a 13-2 run and finished with a career-high 24 points on the strength of 8-of-10 shooting from the field, and finished with a career-best 6-of-7 shooting from 3-point range.
"Chandler shot the ball very well," said Anderson head coach
Jason Taylor. "I thought our guys did a great job of getting him
the ball. We are very happy for Chandler and proud of the
team."
The Greer, S.C., native recorded a traditional three-point play
with just more than four minutes left to give the Trojans a lead
they would not relinquish in Wednesday's win past Lenoir-Rhyne.
He was 12-of-17 (70.6%) from the field on the week, including 7-of-10 from beyond the arc in the two wins. He also added three steals.
Hash ranks seventh in the conference with his 15.6 points per game average and is third in the league in 3-point field goal accuracy at 53.8 percent. He has started all five games and reached double figures in every contest.
The Trojans visit North Greenville on Wednesday night, with
tip-off versus the Crusaders slated for 7 p.m.
