Six Trojans Reach Double-Digit Scoring In Route Over Cobras; 81-61

Anderson, S.C. – The Anderson University (6-3, 6-1 SAC) women's basketball team saw its greatest point output of the season, shooting just over 53% from both the field and behind the arc for the game defeating South Atlantic Conference opponent Coker (3-5, 2-4 SAC), 81-61, on Wednesday evening at the Abney Athletic Center.  

"This was a solid team performance tonight and great to win at home," boasted head coach Jonathon Barbaree. "Our shooting was much better tonight and for the most part we took the right shots."

 "We need to build on that and make a strong push before we go into Christmas break," added Barbaree.

Anderson dished out a season high 22 assists with six different Trojans scoring 10 points or more. AU's 30 point total in the fourth quarter was its highest output of the season in a 10-minute period, shooting 13-of-18 (72.2%).

Freshman Martyna Radzicka equaled game-high honors scoring a career-high 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting and 4-of-4 from behind the arc. Senior Britney Bailey scored 13 points while ripping down 13 rebounds to record her second double-double of the season. Graduate student Shameka McNeill was slowed down by foul trouble, dropped in 11 points and grabbed four rebounds in just 16 minutes of action. Junior Jalyn Spurlin netted 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting and dished out a career high five assists. Seniors Taylor Hair and Samantha Michel each chipped in 10 points for the Black and Gold. Freshman Diamond McDowell continued her solid play with eight points, a career-high five assists, four rebounds and a career-high four steals.

Coker placed three Cobras in double-digits with Abigail Keesling scoring 14 points. Mariah Mitchem and Saquita Joyner each contributed 10 points apiece for the Cobras.

Anderson enjoyed a, 34-23, halftime led after holding the Cobras to just nine points on 3-of-17 (17.6%) shooting in the second period. The third frame was fairly even with the Black and Gold, before exploding for 30 points in the fourth quarter of action.

Anderson remains home and will host South Atlantic Conference opponent foe Limestone on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 2 pm.
