Trojans Ranked in Two National Polls

ANDERSON, S.C. - On the strength of a 26-game South Atlantic Conference regular-season win streak, the Anderson women's basketball team continues to rise in two national polls, as the Trojans jumped three spots to 11th in the latest USA TODAY Sports NCAA Division II Top-25 Coaches Poll and reentered the Division II Media Poll at No. 22, following a two-week absence, as released late Tuesday afternoon.

Anderson, which is 12-1 overall and a perfect 10-0 in the South Atlantic Conference, was 14th in last week's Women's Basketball Coaches (WBCA) Poll.

The Trojans lept three spots to 11th in the WBCA Poll after knocking off Lincoln Memorial and Wingate last week and remains the lone conference representative in the poll, while joining Conference Carolinas' member Limestone (No. 7) and Clayton State (No. 22) and Columbus State (No. 23) from the Peach Belt Conference as representatives from the Southeast Region.

After tallying 16 votes in last week's Media Poll, Anderson garnered 66 votes this week to earn the No. 22 spot after slipping out of the poll following its loss to Limestone, which dropped to No. 2 this week despite collecting a pair of road wins last week. Clayton State rose nine spots this week to 13th in the Media Poll, with Columbus State dropping out of the poll after suffering back-to-back losses.

Anderson will be looking for its fifth consecutive win when the Trojans play host to Carson-Newman on Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Abney Athletic Center.
