Track and Field Teams Ranked in USTFCCCA Regional Top 10

NEW ORLEANS – The Anderson University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams continued their grip on regional rankings in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll, as released earlier this week.

The top four spots in the poll remained unchanged on the women's side, with South Atlantic Conference Champion Wingate continuing to hold onto the top spot, with Mount Olive, UNC Pembroke and Montevallo standing second through fourth, respectively.

Southern Wesleyan, one of two squads from Conference Carolinas, climbed two notches and occupied the fifth spot, with Queens leading four SAC teams in the poll at No. 6. Lenoir-Rhyne, Coker, Anderson and Limestone rounded out the rankings.

The men's regional poll was more muddled, with the top nine teams remaining unchanged from a week ago, but swapping places in the rankings. Perennial regional power Mount Olive remained No. 1, with Queens jumping one spot to second and UNC Pembroke slipping to third.

Limestone stayed steady at No. 4, while Barton bounced up to fifth. Columbus State (sixth) and Wingate (seventh) each fell one spot, while Carson-Newman and Lenoir-Rhyne were eighth and ninth, respectively. The Trojans, who were ranked as high as 10th earlier this season, reappeared at No. 10 this week.
