Women’s Track and Field Ninth in Regional Top-10 Rankings; Men 10th

NEW ORLEANS – On the heels of outstanding performances at the 2017 South Atlantic Conference Championships, the Anderson University women's outdoor track and field team is ranked ninth, while the men's squad is tabbed 10th in the season's fifth U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll.

After winning the league title last weekend, Wingate jumped two notches to claim the No. 1 spot in this week's women's poll, while Mount Olive slipped to second in the rankings. Queens moved up to third, with Montevallo dropping a pair of slots to fourth. Lenoir-Rhyne was fifth, with Southern Wesleyan holding the sixth spot.

Coker and UNC Pembroke were seventh and eighth, respectively, with the Trojan women making an appearance at No. 9. Limestone rounded out the rankings at No. 10.

The AU men's squad is currently 48th in the nation and jumped from 12th to 10th in the weekly rankings after finishing fifth at the SAC Championships.

Mount Olive and Queens held onto the top two spots, while UNC Pembroke climbed one spot to No. 3. Limestone is fourth, with Wingate and Columbus State occupying fifth and sixth, respectively.

Lenoir-Rhyne, Carson-Newman, Barton and AU rounded out the top-10.

The Trojans are slated to compete this weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational.
