Track and Field Wraps up Emory Classic

ATLANTA – The Anderson University men's track and field teams wrapped up competition at the Emory Classic with impressive marks, Saturday at the Eagles' Woodruff PE Center.

Senior Christopher Burton posted an NCAA provisional qualifying time by winning the men's 200 meter dash in a time of 21.41, with freshman Jordan Anderson (22.85) finishing 18th. Burton also posted a provisional time of 10.76 in the men's 100 meter dash.

Junior Anthony Aleruchi won the men's discus throw with a toss of 43.70 meters, with freshman Chandler Johnson finishing 27th with a distance of 28.75 meters. Senior Philip DeGraaf finished ninth in the pole vault with a height of 3.68 meters and sophomore Luke Rochester was 11th with a height of 3.38 meters.

Freshman Brooks Hovis finished 11th in the men's 5,000 meter run in a time of 15:53.02, while senior Ben Boerma finished 13th in a time of 15:56.27. Freshman Jordan Anderson claimed 29th in the men's 400 meter dash in a time of 51.94, while sophomore Brandon Kauer was 31st after crossing the line in a time of 52.63. Senior Michael Burch finished eighth in the men's 1,500 meter run in a time of 4:26.58

Sophomore Abigail Bozarth finished eighth in the women's seeded 1,500 meter run in a time of 4:54.90, while freshman Morgan Bridges finished 13th in a time of 5:01.86. Freshman Rebecca Faircloth was 19th in a time of 5:04.57, while sophomore Martha Coleman crossed the finish line in a time of 5:04.75 and finished 20th. Bridges also finished 20th in the women's 800 meter run in a time of 2:25.95, with freshman Emily Pitts claiming 23rd in a time of 2:26.63. Faircloth posted a time of 2:34.04 and finished 41st.

Freshman Emily Olson finished 19th in the women's 5,000 meter run in a time of 22:24.23. Freshman Emilee Edwards finished 28th in the women's 400 meter dash in a time of 1:01.79, with senior Bari Robinson claiming 40th place in a time of 1:07.50. Junior Taylor Morris finished 41st in a time of 1:08.46. Senior Grace Gerlock was ninth in the women's 5,000 meter run B-Section in a time of 19:53.86, while senior Mia Swierzs finished 17th in a time of 21:14.71.

The Trojans are scheduled to get back in action at the VertKlasse Meeting and the Montreat Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
