Haylee Love and Christopher Burton Shine at Clemson’s Last Chance Meet

CLEMSON, S.C. – Juniors Haylee Love and Christopher Burton led the Trojan contingent by posting school-record provisional NCAA qualifying marks at Clemson's Last Chance Invitational, Friday afternoon at the Tiger's Indoor Complex.

Love, a native of Lexington, S.C., won the women's mile run in a school-record time of 4:53.61, which eclipsed former standout Whitney Bishoff's previous mark by nearly four seconds. Senior Olivia Gardner posted the third-best time in school history by finishing fourth, while crossing the finish line in a time of 5:07.49.

Sophomore Abigail Bozarth finished sixth in the women's 3,000 meter run in a time of 10:57.34, while Burton placed 10th in the men's 200 meter dash in a time of 21.79, which bested his own previous school record.

The track and field teams are scheduled to compete Saturday at the UCS Invitational, which will be hosted at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
