Women's Golf Team Finishes Eighth

LITTLE RIVER, S.C. -- The Anderson University women's golf team improved by six shots in the second round but did not move up in the final standings of the Lenior-Rhyne/Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate at the River Hills Country Club Tuesday. Anderson shot a 326 in the second round to finish in a tie for eighth place with Wingate at 658. Nova Southeastern won the 18-team event with a two-round total of 609. Pfeiffer was second at 627, and Newberry was third at 630. Sophie Dembroski led Anderson in the second round with a 78 and finished in a tie for 18th in the individual standings at 159. Anderson's other second round scores were: Erin May 80, Carlie Eastman 84, and Jenny Odle 84.
