ANDERSON, S.C. - Anderson freshman second baseman Jessica Neidigh was named the South Atlantic Conference softball Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

The Lawrenceville, Ga., native closed the final week of the regular season by hitting .520 (13-for-25) on the week, while recording a slugging percentage of .960 to help lead the Trojans to a 3-1 SAC record (4-2 overall) on the week, as AU clinched the third seed in the league tournament, while setting a new school record for wins in a season, going 35-11 overall.

The Trojans earned three SAC wins on the week, out-slugging Newberry, 9-4, on Wednesday and sweeping Tusculum, 7-6 and 10-6 on the final day of league action Saturday. AU split with Erskine, falling 6-5 in extra innings but earned a 7-5 win in the nightcap on Thursday.

Neidigh also improved to 3-1 in the circle on the season with the complete-game 7-5 win past the Flying Fleet last Thursday.

The 5-foot-8 second baseman started all six games, notching 13 hits in 25 at-bats, including two home runs, three doubles and a triple, while scoring eight runs and driving in nine.
