CENTRAL, S.C. - The Anderson University softball team pounded out 24 hits as the Trojans wrapped up their four-game road swing by outpacing Southern Wesleyan, 12-2 and 6-0, Thursday night at Varsity Field.
Anderson (19-3) has won two in a row and 19 of its last 20, continuing the best start in school history. Southern Wesleyan had its two-game win streak snapped, while falling to 6-10 on the season.

Sophomore catcher Laura Jansky was 4-for-5 in the opener and reached base five times, with a double and three singles. She drove home three runs and scored once. Sophomore Danielle Swygert was 3-for-4 with a walk and scored twice, while recording three RBI. Freshman Bri Cason notched three singles and crossed the plate twice in five trips to the plate. Designated player Rachel Rhodes was 2-for-3 and drove in a run, while sophomore shortstop Abby Child blasted her team-leading eighth home run and scored three runs.
Freshman right-hander Larissa Ostapiak (9-1) earned the win by going the distance in the circle, while striking out four Warriors and did not walk a batter.
The Trojans snapped a scoreless tie with three runs in the third, as Child delivered two RBI with her round-tripper.
AU put the game out of reach with five runs crossing the plate one inning later, boosting its advantage to 8-0, with the Trojans sending 10 batters to the plate. Anderson banged out six hits in the frame, including Jansky's two-run double to center field.
The Warriors countered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth, but would get no closer, as Anderson posted a four-run seventh inning to set the final score.

Jansky finished the nightcap 2-for-4, with an RBI and a run scored, with Child recording an RBI-double and scored twice.
Senior hurler Amber Duncan tossed her third shutout of the campaign by going the distance and surrendering just a second-inning single, while improving to 8-1. The rightie struck out five and walked just one.
Anderson erupted for four runs in the sixth inning by taking advantage of four consecutive hits, including back-to-back doubles by Child and Swygert.
The Trojans open South Atlantic Conference play Saturday when
22nd-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne invades Smethers Field. First-pitch is
scheduled for 2 p.m.
