Women’s Track and Field Ranked Eighth in Southeast Region; Men’s Track and Field Squad Slips to Ninth

NEW ORLEANS - With the Florida Relays looming on the horizon, the Anderson University women's outdoor track and field team is ranked eighth in the Southeast Region, while the men's squad is ninth in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll, as released on Tuesday.

Queens and Montevallo remained 1-2 in the women's rankings, while Wingate climbed two spots to third following the Wingate Invitational. UNC Pembroke and Lenoir-Rhyne each slipped a spot to fourth and fifth, respectively, with Mount Olive and Clayton State still occupying sixth and seventh in the weekly rankings. The Trojans rose to eighth from 10th a week ago, while Carson-Newman made an appearance at No. 9 after not being ranked last week. Coker moved into the No. 10 slot this week, with Augusta and Limestone dropping out of the poll.

The men's rankings still feature Mount Olive and Limestone in the top two spots, with Wingate jumping three spots to No. 3 and Columbus State slipping to fourth. UNC Pembroke remained steady at No. 5, while Queens and Carson-Newman moved into sixth and seventh, respectively. Lenoir-Rhyne fell four spots to eighth, while Anderson slipped to ninth and Augusta held the No. 10 slot. North Greenville tumbled out of this week's rankings.
