Paced by the throwers and relay teams, the Anderson men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up competition on Saturday at the 49er Classic, hosted by Charlotte on the Irwin Belk Track.
Sophomore Hannah Sanford crossed the finish line in second place
in the women's 10,000 meter run finals in a time of 39:34.93, with
fellow sophomore Taylor Morris finishing 52nd in the finals of the
800 meters in a time of 2:28.16.
D'Yandra Morris was 10th in the women's shot put with a toss of
11.62 meters and JoLyn Copeland was 32nd with a distance of 10.24
meters. The team of junior Sherin Malone, freshman Madison Seay,
senior Ali Palacios and freshman Tori Cooper placed 18th in the
women's 4x100 meter relay finals in a time of 49.31.
The team of freshman Martha Coleman, freshman Maddie Buddenberg, junior Grace Gerlock and junior Mia Swierzs placed fourth in the women's 4x800 meter relay finals in a time of 10:49.91.
Anthony Aleruchi finished 15th in the men's discus with a distance of 41.24 meters and claimed 30th place in the men's shot put with a toss of 12.73 meters. Luke Rochester placed third in the pole vault with a height of 4.15 meters, while Jeff Bannon finished ninth with a height of 3.85 meters and Philip DeGraaf was 14th with a height of 3.70 meters.
The men's squad team of sophomore T.J. Robinson, sophomore Caleb Stephenson, freshman Brandon Kauer and sophomore Christopher Burton finished fourth in the finals of the 4x100 meter relay in a time of 41.49, with Burton also claiming ninth in the men's triple jump with a distance of 13.94 meters, while Eric Hoover placed 25th after jumping a distance of 12.72 meters.
The men's squad team of sophomore Mason Hazel, junior Michael Burch, junior Jesse Patrick and junior Ben Boerma finished third in the finals of the 4x800 meter relay in a time of 8:30.49.
The Trojans get back in action Saturday at the Wingate
Invitational.
