COLUMBUS, GA. - Senior Paul Michael Calhoun grabbed a singles win
at the No. 6 position earning the lone point for Anderson
University men's tennis, as the Trojans fell to Peach Belt
powerhouse No. 11 Columbus State on Saturday at the Newman Tennis
Center.
The loss drops Anderson to 7-4 overall, while the Cougars improve to 9-3 on the year.
Despite the loss, the Black and Gold played well pushing the Cougars to play up to their full potential in order to win. Worth noting for the Trojans was the play of Nicolas Ascarrunz who was just shy of winning the first set against the No. 43 player in the country, eventually losing 7-6, 6-3.
Anderson returns to the courts on Saturday when it travels to South Atlantic Conference opponent Lenoir-Rhyne. First serve from Hickory High School is set for 1 p.m.
