Men’s Golf 16th After Day One at Spring Kick-off Intercollegiate

ORANGE PARK, Fla. - Led by senior Arran Setro's 7-over-par 149, the Anderson men's golf team is in 16th place following opening-round action at the second annual Spring Kick-off Intercollegiate, co-hosted by Wingate and Lincoln Memorial on Monday at the par 71, 6688 yard Golf Club at Fleming Island.

With the format calling for 36 holes Monday and the final 18 holes Tuesday, the Trojans opened their spring slate by posting a two-round 608 and trail Catawba (606) by two shots.

LMU (568) leads the tourney by eight shots over Flagler (576), while Tusculum (579) is three shots further back in third. UNC Pembroke (585) is fourth, while Belmont Abbey (590) and Newberry (590) finished the first day deadlocked in fifth. Wingate (593) and Cape Fear Community College (593) sit tied for seventh.

Carson-Newman (594), Coker (595), King (600), Montevallo (601), Limestone (603), Georgia Southwestern (603), Catawba (606) and Anderson (608) round out the scoreboard.

Setro is in a six-way tie for 28th, while junior CJ Messana (150) sits one shot further back in a seven-way tie for 34th. Senior Sean Shelton carded a first-day 12-over-par 154 and is tied for 58th with four others. Sophomore David Wachter and freshman Payden Parrish each fired 16-over-par 158s and are tied for 70th entering Tuesday's final round.

LMU's Tre Mullins posted a 134 and holds a two-shot lead on the leaderboard over Flagler's Spencer Schindler (136), who is six under.
