Men’s Golf Signs Ryan Kincaid

ANDERSON, S.C. - Anderson University head men's golf coach Danny Neal has announced that Spartanburg Christian's Ryan Kincaid has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Trojans, beginning in 2014.

"I am excited to have Ryan joining our team (next season)," said Neal. "He is currently ranked 43rd in the South Carolina Junior Golf Association (SCJGA) state rankings. Ryan is a two-time MVP at the SCISA State Tournament, has numerous high finishes in big tournaments and will make an immediate positive impact on our team next fall. He finished this past summer with a 75.3 tournament scoring average, demonstrating his ability to score well consistently under pressure. I know Ryan will make us a more competitive team in the South Atlantic Conference going forward."

Kincaid helped lead the Warriors to back-to-back state runner-up finishes in both 2012 and 2013, while leading Spartanburg Christian in scoring average over the past three seasons. He won the 2012 National Junior Golf Tour (NJGT) Deer Brook event in a playoff and claimed first place in the 2013 South Carolina Chapter Junior Golf Association (SCJGA) Tournament of Champions. Kincaid qualified for the Thomas D Todd All Star Tournament, which includes two of the top players from each county of the Upstate and finished in a tie for second.

He was a recipient of SCA's Most Valuable Player award as a freshman, sophomore and junior, while being named South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) All-State by the High School Sports Report in both 2012 and 2013.

Kincaid earned SCISA 2A All-Region accolades as a freshman and followed up by finishing 10th out of 70 players at the SCISA State Tournament as a sophomore. He placed ninth out of 72 players at the SCISA State Tournament as a junior.

"Ryan has set the standard for hard work and dedication both on and off the course during his time at SCA," said Spartanburg Christian coach Josh Brown. "The high level of success and achievements he has seen are a clear result of his stellar work ethic and passion for the game of golf. Ryan is the leader of our program. I am excited to see him get the opportunity to continue his career at the next level for Anderson University."
