Men’s Golf Tied for Sixth at State Farm Intercollegiate

TAZEWELL, Tenn. - Paced by senior Sean Shelton's two-under-par 70, the Anderson men' golf team is tied for sixth place following first-round action at the State Farm Intercollegiate, hosted by Lincoln Memorial at the par-72 Woodlake Golf Course on Monday.

Anderson (297) is tied with Brevard (297) and both squads lead eighth-place Pfeiffer (299) by two strokes. Mars Hill (284) and Tusculum (284) are leading the way, while Lincoln Memorial is three shots further back in third. Walters State Community College (293) is fourth, while Catawba (294) is fifth entering Tuesday's final round.

Shelton is tied with Georgia Southwestern's Anders Olsson in fourth, while Senior Arran Setro fired an even-par 72 and is in an eight-way tie for 11th.
Sophomore David Wachter (75) is tied for 34th and freshman Rob Warren posted an opening-round 80 and is tied for 48th. Junior CJ Messana carded an 85 and is tied for 61st.

Tusculum's Warren Cheney and Andrew Hall of Walters State each carded a four-under-par 68 and sit atop the leaderboard, one stroke ahead of Mars Hills' Adam Lumley and LMU's rand Wasson.

The tourney wraps up on Tuesday.
