Men’s Golf Finishes Sixth at State Farm Intercollegiate

TAZEWELL, Tenn. - Senior Arran Setro carded a two-day three-under par 141 to help lead the Anderson men' golf team is to a sixth-place finish at Lincoln Memorial's State Farm Intercollegiate, hosted at the par-72 Woodlake Golf Course on Monday.

Anderson (297-296=593) entered the final round tied with Brevard (297-288=585), but the Tornados surged into fifth. AU finished two strokes ahead of the LMU Gray (304-291=595) team and three shots in front of eighth-place Catawba (294-302=596).

The host Railsplitters (287-280=567) moved from third on Monday to overtake Mars Hill (284-285=569) and Tusculum (284-27=571) to claim the team title. Walters State Community College (293-280=573) finished fourth.

Setro (72-69=141) trimmed three strokes from Monday's opening round and tied for sixth, while fellow senior Sean Shelton (70-73=143) finished in a five-way tie for 10th and is in an eight-way tie for 11th. Sophomore David Wachter (75-76=151) was eight strokes further back and tied for 34th and freshman Rob Warren (80-81=161) finished 58th. Junior CJ Messana trimmed seven strokes from his first-round effort and finished in a tie for 60th with a two-day total 163.

Mars Hills' Adam Lumley (69-70=139) claimed individual medalist honors by one stroke.

The Trojans return to action in two weeks at the Rock Barn College Invitational in Conover, N.C.
