Men's Golf Team Receives Regional Bid

ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Anderson College men's golf team will participate in the Atlantic/Southeast Super Regional May 2-3 at the Bull Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ga. The top team from each region within the super regional and the top individual not with a team from each super regional will advance to the NCAA Division II national championship tournament May 17-20 at The Club at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Ga. The eight teams in the Atlantic Region are Coker, Pfeiffer, Barton, Belmont Abbey, Queens (N.C.), Anderson, St. Andrews Presbyterian and Fayetteville State. The eight teams in the Southeast Region are USC Aiken, Armstrong Atlantic State, Georgia College and State, Columbus State, North Carolina Pembroke, Francis Marion, Presbyterian, and North Greenville. Anderson is led by junior Brad Eskierka, who has a stroke average of 77.72 in 18 tournament rounds this year. Following Eskierka are junior Denton Moore (78.20 in 15 rounds), freshman Kurt Owings (78.40 in 10 rounds), and freshman Clay Williamson (79.73 in 15 rounds). Owings and Williamson both shot 73 in the final round of the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference tournament.
