VASS, N.C. -- The Anderson College men's golf team is in eighth place after the first round of the St. Andrews Invitational Monday at the Maples Course at the Woodlake Resort. Abilene Christian is the leader of the 15-team field after the first round with a 299. Mount Olive is second at 301, host St. Andrews is third at 303, and Barton is fourth at 304. Anderson shot a 325 and is one shot out of sixth place. Brad Eskierka led Anderson in the first round with a 78. Anderson's other scores were: Clay Williamson 78, Denton Moore 83, and Andrew Corley 83. The second round will be played Tuesday morning.
