HARROGATE, Tenn. - With four players reaching double figures, third-ranked Lincoln Memorial defeated Anderson, 73-54, in South Atlantic Conference action Wednesday night at Tex Turner Arena.

Anderson (7-6, 3-4 SAC), which shot better than 55 percent over the last two contests, posted just a 33.9 percent shooting percentage - its' lowest of the season, as the Trojans saw their win streak halted at five. Lincoln Memorial stayed atop the league standings and ran its home win streak to 21 games, while improving to 13-0 overall and 7-0 in league action.

LMU narrowly won the battle of the boards, 36-35, but the Trojans committed 13 turnovers and the Railsplitters shot 54 percent from the field, while connecting on eight 3-pointers.

Senior center Chris Ross led the Trojans with 12 points on the night, while freshman guard Maurice Howard added nine points and a pair of assists off the bench. Senior guard Myson Jones tallied eight points and two assists, with Tre' Fields and Alani Adekambi leading the Trojans with five rebounds apiece.

Lincoln Memorial sophomore Luquon Choice led all players with 20 points, while senior Lorenza Ross recorded 14 points and a game-high 14 assists. Freshman forward Dorian Pinson and Curtis McMillion each posted 11 points, with Pinson pulling down a game-high nine rebounds.

Both teams got off to a slow start, with AU senior DJ McGowan scoring the game's first basket at the 17:37 mark. The Railsplitters countered with five consecutive points over the next minute to take a 5-2 lead. The Trojans answered with five straight points of their own, as Ross dropped in a basket and guard Nick Jackson drained a 3-pointer from the right side to regain the lead for Anderson, at 7-5, with 14:27 on the clock.

With the score knotted at seven apiece, the Trojans posted an 8-2 run, with Ross and DJ McGowan dropping in back-to-back buckets in the paint and Jones capping the surge with four straight points to give AU what turned out to be its largest lead of the game, at 15-9, with 11:40 left in the opening half.

But Lincoln Memorial capitalized on a four-minute scoring drought by the Trojans with nine unanswered points as part of a 22-6 outburst to claim a double-digit 31-21 lead with less than three minutes left in the half. The Railsplitters took a 34-23 lead into intermission.

After LMU scored the first five points of the second frame, junior center Steven Faust scored for the Trojans and Fields added six of his seven points on the night over the next two minutes to trim the deficit to 41-31 at the 16:18 mark. But the Trojans were unable to get any closer, as LMU rebuilt a 16-point lead with 12 minutes remaining and held the advantage over the reamaindr of the contest.

The Trojans wrap up their two-game road trip and will be looking to get back in the win column at Coker on Saturday. Tip-off in Hartsville, S.C., is set for 4 p.m.
