KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Anderson University men's basketball players Chandler Hash and Myson Jones continued to add accolades to their resumes, as the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) today announced the 2013-14 NABC Honors Court, recognizing those men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season.

The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that these men possess off the court and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom.

A record number 895 student-athletes from 335 colleges and universities throughout Division I and D-II earned NABC Honors Court distinction.

Joining Hash and Jones from the South Atlantic Conference were Gabriel Mens, Jonathon Gardner and Eren Moses from Coker, along with Newberry's Mitch Riggs.

Jones, a rising senior, started all 32 games last season while leading the team with 3.53 assists per game and 3-point field-goal accuracy at 44.0% (77-of-175). The Aiken, S.C. native ranked fourth in the South Atlantic Conference in 3-point field goals made and fifth in 3-point field goal percentage.

The 5-foot-9 guard was the Trojans' third-leading scorer a season ago and equaled a career-high 22 points twice within a seven-day span - against Tusculum and at Carson-Newman - while reaching double figures 17 times throughout the season. Jones handed out a career-best 10 assists vs. GRU Augusta in the NCAA Southeast Regional and drained game-winning shot for an 83-81 win over Carson-Newman in late January. Earlier in the season, he dished out the assist on Hash's game-winner in AU's 85-84 win over Queens. .

Hash closed his stellar three-year career in third place on Anderson's all-time scoring list with 1,537 career points, while earning back-to-back First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference honors. The 2014 SAC Tournament MVP honoree also collected First-Team NABC Division II All-District First-team accolades following his selection to the Daktronics First-Team All-Region squad.

The left-handed sharpshooter led the conference in scoring at 24.3 points per game and ranks fifth in the nation in scoring average. His school-record 778 total points last season led NCAA Division II and marks the second-highest single-season scoring tally in league history. Hash's career-high 44-point outburst in the Trojans' win over Coker in the SAC Tournament ranks seventh in the league all-time for points scored in a single game.

The Greer, S.C. native was a two-time recipient of the Men's Basketball SAC Scholar-Athlete Award.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
2. Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2013-14 academic year.
3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4. Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.

The NABC will announce its Team Academic Excellence Awards on Wednesday, July 23.
