ANDERSON, S.C. - Anderson University head coach Jason Taylor has announced that Marquez Fisher (Travelers Rest High School), Maurice Howard (Saluda High School) and Alex Greisen (Elev8 Prep Academy/Grapevine (Texas) High School) have signed national letters of intent and will join the Trojan men's basketball team for the 2014-15 campaign.

"I could not be happier or more excited about this class," said Taylor. "Coach Hilburn has once again spearheaded the recruiting efforts of an outstanding recruiting class, addressing our immediate needs and increasing the quality of our depth. All of these guys come from great programs and have been extremely well coached in high school and understand what work ethic means and the importance of it."

Howard, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound point guard from Saluda, S.C., was a career 1,000-point performer for the Tigers who averaged 20.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 4.0 steals per contest during his senior campaign. He helped lead Saluda to a 14-8 record last season, while being named the team's MVP for the last three seasons. Howard was named the 2014 Region 2-AA Player of the Year, while also earning South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association (SCBCA) Region AA All-State Team recognition in both 2013 and 2014. He was a 2014 Preseason Top 5 Region AA honoree and was named to the All-Lakelands Team as a sophomore, junior and senior.

"Maurice is a true point guard," added Taylor. "He was our guy from the beginning and I am excited about coaching him. I am going to feel good with the ball in his hands. He makes great decisions. His strength and change of pace are already impressive. Maurice was well-coached at Saluda first by Coach Stephens and then Coach Ergle his senior year. They did a great job with Maurice."

Fisher is a 6-foot-8, 200-pound power forward out of Travelers Rest, S.C., who helped lead Coach Josh Mills' Devildogs to an overall 21-5 record, including a 13-1 mark in region action. He averaged 10.6 points and 10.5 rebounds per contest during his senior campaign and was named SCBCA Region AAA All-State, while garnering All-Region accolades as a sophomore, junior and senior. Fisher was a two-time team MVP and two-time All-Greenville County honoree. He also earned 2014 Preseason Top 5 Region AAA recognition and competed in both the 2014 North-South All-Star game and 2014 FCA All-Star contest.

"Marquez is another player that we identified early that we wanted and was able to land him," noted Taylor. "Marquez has an extremely high-talent ceiling. He's been well-coached under Coach Mills and understands how to play. I am extremely excited to coach Quez. I am honestly not sure how good Quez can be but I am excited to find out."

Greisen averaged 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists at Elev8 Prep Academy in Delray, Fla. last season. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound shooting guard was named "Mr. Hustle", while demonstrating long-range accuracy from beyond the arc by shooting 48 percent from three-point range. Greisen led the squad with 83 made 3-pointers last season.

As a senior at Grapevine High School, he led the Mustangs with his 17.4 points and eight rebounds per game average. Greisen shot 48 percent from the field, including 42 percent from beyond the arc, while swiping 3.1 steals a game. He was an All-District 6-5A Offensive Player of the Year selection for two consecutive seasons and earned All-Region honors following his senior campaign, when the Mustangs posted a 22-12 record.

"Alex comes to us from Elev8 Prep where he has been mentored by some of the best coaches and skill development guys in our business in Cody Toppert and Ganon Baker," added Taylor. "His work ethic is second to none. Alex is a tough hard-nosed kid who is a gym rat and loves to compete. He is going to be a joy to coach."

"All these young men are a great fit for Anderson University," noted Taylor. "They are going to be great representatives of our program and great future ambassadors of our University. I can't wait to get all three of these guys on campus in the fall."
