Lady Trojans Closing In On Top Five

LILBURN, Ga. -- The Anderson College women's basketball team moved up one spot to No. 6 in the latest USA TODAY/ESPN/WBCA Division II Coaches poll released Tuesday afternoon. The No. 6 spot is the highest ranking ever for the Lady Trojans, 21-2 overall after Monday night's 11-96 victory over Queens University of Charlotte. Anderson is just 11 points out of the top five. Drury (19-1) remains the No. 1 team with 22 of 25 first-place votes. Seattle Pacific (19-1) is No. 2 followed by Shaw (21-1), Washburn (20-2), and Lake Superior State (17-3). Rounding out the top 10 are Anderson, Fairmont State (21-1), Emporia State (18-3), Angelo State (18-2), and Charleston (20-2). The complete poll is available at www.wbca.org.
