BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Anderson men's basketball team, which has opened the season with back-to-back wins for the first time since the 2013-14 campaign, is ranked fifth in the most recent D2SIDA Southeast Region Media Poll, as announced Monday morning.
The Trojans (2-0, 0-0 SAC) captured an 80-77 win over No. 2 Flagler last Friday, then followed up with a five-point overtime victory past Lander on Saturday afternoon.
AU leads the South Atlantic Conference in free throw accuracy (79.5%) and defensive rebounding (34.0/gm), while ranking third in blocked shots (4.0/gm) and fifth in scoring (78.0 ppg.)
The Trojans are slated to get back on the hardwood, Wednesday night at nationally-ranked Lincoln Memorial, which opened the season with wins over Clayton State and USC Aiken. Tip-off at Tex Turner Arena is slated for 7:30 p.m.
The Men's Basketball Division II Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, is in its seventh year of existence. The regional poll is released every Monday, followed by the national poll every Tuesday. Each region has six representatives that comprise the regional poll. The national poll has 16 voter - 2 from each region.
