ANDERSON, S.C. - Anderson University rising senior Whitney Bishoff has qualified for the 2011 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, to be hosted by California State University - Stanislaus, May 26-28, at the Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium.
Bishoff, who holds the school record in the 10,000 meter run, will compete in the event on Thursday night, May 26, with the race tentatively scheduled to start at 8:40 p.m. (PST).
The Winder, Ga., native set a new school record in the 10,000
meter (35:37.97) earlier this season, as well as posting new record
marks in the 1500, 5000 and one mile run in 2011. She posted
several stellar outings in both cross country and track and field
over the past academic year, including earning the prestigious NCAA
Elite 88 Award at the 2011 Indoor Track & Field Championships
in March. The Elite 88 is presented to the student-athlete with the
highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals
site for each of the NCAA's 88 championships.
