Bishoff Qualifies for NCAA Championships

ANDERSON, S.C. - Anderson University junior standout runner Whitney Bishoff has qualified for the NCAA 2011 Indoor Track & Field Championships to be hosted by Adams State College on March 11 and 12 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

The Winder, Ga., native will compete in the one mile run after continually posting new school records throughout the indoor season en route to setting numerous school records. She garnered the top spot in the mile run with a school-record time of 4:57.25, while also earning first-place in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:06.07 at Clemson's Tiger Tuneup.

Bishoff also claimed first place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:21.00 at Lenoir-Rhyne's PowerSox Invitational.

She earned Cross Country Conference Runner of the Year as well as first team all-conference following her first-place finish at the South Atlantic Conference Championships last November.

Bishoff is scheduled to compete in a preliminary heat at 6:20 p.m. (Eastern Time) Friday, with the top three finishers in each of three heats moving on to Saturday.
