Stafford and Bailey Earn Academic All-District Honors

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University seniors Brittney Stafford and Britney Bailey have been named to the 2022-23 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team, as announced early Tuesday afternoon.

The teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Stafford, a senior guard averages 36.3 minutes per game and has played eight 40- minute contest this season. The native of New Braunfels, Texas is averaging 11.2 points and 4.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. She has scored a season-high 19 points on three occasions and dished out a career-high 11 assists earlier this season against Columbus State.

Stafford carries a 3.675 GPA in Business Management.

Bailey ranks third in the South Atlantic Conference in rebounds per game (9.1) and ripped down a career-high 20 rebounds against Newberry back in December. She averages 7.3 points per game and 1.8 assists. The native of Santa Rita, Guam, has recorded six double-doubles on the season.

Bailey carries a 3.638 GPA in Engineering.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late December.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.

To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or important reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
