Trojans Set To Play In South Atlantic Conference Softball Championship

ANDERSON, S.C. – No. 14 Anderson University softball claimed the top-seed in the South Atlantic Conference after posting a 20-4 league record. The Trojans finished the regular season with a 37-7 overall record and is currently ranked No. 1 in the NCAA Southeast Region standings.  The South Atlantic Conference Softball Championship, which will be hosted by Lincoln Memorial University begins on April 29-30.

The Black and Gold are eyeing its third all-time SAC Tournament title after winning in 2014 and 2019. Anderson will square off with the eighth-seeded Limestone Saints on Friday at 1:30 pm.

The single elimination 2022 SAC Softball Championship will be played at Lincoln Memorial's Dorothy Neely Softball Complex in Harrogate, Tenn. Games begin on Friday (April 29) at 11 a.m. Below is the Championship schedule and ticket information.

DAILY TICKETS:

Adults: $10.00 per-day

Youth, under 12, Seniors, 60+, Active or Retired Military: $5.00 per-day

College Students with College ID: $4.00 per-day.

Game 1 – #4 Lincoln Memorial vs. #5 Queens, 11:00am             

Game 2 – #1 Anderson vs. #8 Limestone, 1:30pm      

Game 3 – #2 Lenoir-Rhyne vs. #7 Tusculum, 4:00pm         

Game 4 – #3 Wingate vs. #6 Carson-Newman, 6:30pm

SERIES HISTORY

Anderson overtook the series lead after sweeping the Saints back on March 24th of this year. The overall series now stands at 22-20, with Anderson winning the last 6-of-7. Limestone captured the first 7-of-8 when the series began back in 1999.
