ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University softball team will begin its 2017 home play when it welcomes Conference Carolinas opponent Lees-McRae to the AU Softball Complex on Sunday. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 1 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
Overall Record – Anderson leads 21-12
- Sunday's twin bill marks the fifth meeting between the two programs since the Trojans joined the South Atlantic Conference for the 2011 campaign. Both schools were members of the Conference Carolinas until that season and the teams have met 33 times overall, with the Trojans holding a 21-12 advantage in the all-time series.
ANDERSON TROJANS OVERVIEW
- Anderson won its season opener against Southern Wesleyan, 6-3 and 7-4.
- Freshman Meghan Majeski had an outstanding college debut, batting 4-for-8 with two runs scored, three stolen bases, one base on balls and an RBI.
- Senior hurler Augie Pena recorded a save in game one and a win in game two. Pena allowed only four hits while striking out seven.
- Two of the four hits by Cailah Niles were doubles. Niles also drove in three runs on the day.
LEES-McRAE BOBCATS OVERVIEW
- The Bobcats fell twice in their season opener against Carson-Newman.
- Lees-McRae will face Newberry on Saturday before taking on the Trojans on Sunday.
- The Bobcats are coached by second year head coach Jaclin Poole.
- Lees-McRae finished the 2016 season with an overall record of 10-36.
