ANDERSON, S.C. -- Brooke Lucas, an infielder/outfielder from Rock Hill, S.C., has signed a national letter of intent to play softball at Anderson University, AU head coach Tommy Hewitt announced Tuesday. In her senior season at Rock Hill, Lucas batted .525 with nine doubles, two triples and 22 RBI. "Brooke has a great work ethic and excellent softball skills," Hewitt said. "She will play a major role in the development of our program during the next four years." Lucas was a three-sport letterman at Rock Hill -- softball, volleyball, and basketball -- and lettered in softball five years. She was named to the all-region softball team four times and was voted team MVP three times. In '07 and '08, Lucas was named The Charlotte Observer/Rock Hill High School Athlete of the Year and to The Charlotte Observer All-Upstate softball team.
