Carracedo, Rivas Earn Spots on Postseason All-Conference Teams

ROCK HILL, S.C. - With the 2015 South Atlantic Conference Tournament beginning on Thursday, Anderson University men's tennis standouts Juan Carracedo and Mateo Rivas were honored by the league, as Carracedo earned a spot on the All-SAC First Team Singles list and joined Rivas on the All-SAC Second Team Doubles squad, announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Carracedo lands on the first-team singles list for the second time in as many years after being named the SAC Freshman of the Year at the conclusion of the 2014 regular season. For his two-year career, the Buenos Aires, Argentina native is 20-15 while playing the majority of his career at the No. 1 position. This season, Carracedo comes into the SAC Tournament with a 12-5 record, including an 8-2 mark against league opponents.

The sophomore becomes the second Trojan in program history to be a two-time honoree on the SAC First Team Singles list, as he joins former standout Stan Atema.

In doubles, Carracedo and Rivas ended the regular season with a 5-6 record, as the tandem claims an All-SAC Second Team spot for the second straight year. The pair has been ranked as high as No. 23 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Doubles Rankings this season.

Anderson, which claimed the No. 3 seed, begins its SAC Tournament campaign on Thursday when it takes on sixth-seeded Lincoln Memorial. First serve from the Brevard College Tennis Complex is set for 9 a.m.
