Men’s Tennis Falls at Tusculum, 6-3

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -Despite singles wins by Juan Carracedo and Harrison Kansol, Anderson University men's tennis fell short of defeating Tusculum, falling 6-3 in South Atlantic Conference action Saturday afternoon at Roger M. Nichols Tennis Complex.

With the setback, the Trojans snap a four-game winning streak and drop to 7-2 overall with a 4-1 mark in the conference. Opening their spring season this afternoon, the Pioneers improve to 1-0 in the spring season.

In the doubles portion, AU managed one victory as the junior tandem of Inaki Iriberry and Paul Michael Calhoun posted an 8-3 victory over Tusculum's David Siegle and Toby de Klerk at the No. 3 spot. Despite the win, the Pioneers claimed wins at No. 1 (8-5) and No. 2 (8-3).

Carracedo and Kansol grabbed triumphs at No. 2 and No. 6, respectively, as Carracedo defeated Nic Planchard 7-5, 6-1 for his sixth victory of the season. With his win at No. 6, Kansol has won five straight singles matches as he knocked off de Klerk 6-2, 6-3.

Anderson returns to the courts on Saturday when it heads to Carson-Newman. First serve from the Volunteer State is scheduled for 2 p.m.
