ANDERSON, S.C. - With just one victory in the both the singles and doubles rounds, Anderson University men's tennis could not keep up with Wingate, as the Trojans fell 7-2, Wednesday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference action at the Max Grubbs Memorial Courts.

With the setback, the Black and Gold drops to 11-3 on the season with an 8-2 mark in league play, while the Bulldogs improve to 10-5 overall with an 8-1 record in the SAC.

In the doubles round, the pair of sophomore Nicolas Ascarrunz and freshman Harrison Kansol cruised to an 8-3 victory at the No. 2 position for the tandem's fourth doubles triumph on the season. Despite the win, the Trojans came up empty in the final two doubles matches, as the visitors held on to a 2-1 lead moving into the singles portion.

From there, the lone AU singles victory came at the No. 1 slot as sophomore Juan Carracedo fended off WU's Neal Towlson 6-4, 7-6 to claim his eighth win in the SAC this season. Despite the sophomore's win, Wingate recorded victories in the five remaining singles matches and took the conference road victory.

The Trojans look to get back on track on Tuesday when they head to Emmanuel for a nonconference clash. First serve from the Peach State is slated for 2 p.m.
