Men’s Soccer Remains Eighth in NCAA Southeast Region

INDIANAPOLIS - With Tuesday's win not factored into the latest NCAA Southeast Regional rankings, Anderson University men's soccer remained in eighth-place with the final rankings slated to be released on Nov. 11, released by the NCAA on Wednesday.

If the tournament were to begin this week, AU would be one of the two teams in the rankings to not earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament, as the top six teams would represent the Southeast region. The Trojans are one of five teams in the South Atlantic Conference to be named to the top-8, as Carson-Newman, which was eliminated from the conference tournament on Tuesday, earned the top spot.

Wingate, which was knocked out of the SAC Tournament on Tuesday by the Trojans, was slotted in the fourth position, while regular season champion, Queens, was placed sixth. Coker, which was also knocked out in the opening round of the conference tournament by Lincoln Memorial, joined AU on the outside of the top six in seventh-place.

Conference Carolinas regular season champion, Limestone, was slotted second, while Peach Belt Conference runner-up, Lander, was picked third. PBC member Flagler, which holds a 7-4-3 overall record, is slotted fifth.

Anderson continues tournament play on Friday when it heads to Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, S.C. for the SAC semifinals against sixth-seeded Mars Hill. Kickoff against the Lions is set for 4 p.m.
