ANDERSON, S.C. - Junior Mattias Schyberg and redshirt sophomore Lars Zimmerman have been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team in District 3, representing teams from the South Atlantic Conference, Conference Carolinas and the Peach Belt Conference, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.

Zimmerman, who holds a 3.90 GPA, was named captain of the 2013 squad and has been the anchor to a backline that has posted four clean sheets on the season. Offensively, Zimmerman has shined off set pieces as the Malente, Germany native has two goals and one assist coming from the backline for the year. After being named to the all-conference second team a season ago, Zimmerman hold nine career goals in 35 career starts in the Black and Gold.

Schyberg, who carries a 3.45 GPA as a Business major, has seen action in all three positions on the field this year. Currently, Schyberg has started in 15 of AU's 17 matches and has posted 11 points with three goals and five assists. Two of Schyberg's three goals have been game-winners, highlighted by his 102nd minute goal to propel Anderson over Young Harris, 2-1, eventually being YHC's lone loss of the season.

The AU duo is joined by four other SAC players as Wingate's Cameron Burrows, Newberry's Nick Rembowski and Queens' Erick Suarez were also was named to the team. Anderson was the lone conference member to have two honorees on the team.

Anderson continues its trek in search of its fourth straight SAC Tournament championship, as it hosts Carson-Newman in its regular-season finale on Saturday. Kickoff from Trojan Stadium is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
