Trojans Ranked No. 7 in Southeast Region

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Despite finishing the week winless, the Anderson University men's soccer team remained in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Southeast Poll, but dropped from the No. 3 position to the No. 7 spot, announced by the NSCAA on Tuesday.

The Trojans began the week with a scoreless draw with Sunshine State Conference opponent Flagler on Tuesday and ended the week with a heartbreaking double-overtime loss to South Atlantic Conference newcomer, Coker, 2-1. The Cobras jumped AU in the poll, moving to the No. 5 spot, becoming the highest rated SAC team in the poll. Lenoir-Rhyne, which finished eighth, and Queens, which finished tied for ninth, round out the SAC teams within the poll.

Peach Belt Conference favorite Lander remains in the top spot, holding a 3-0-1 record. UNC Pembroke, Young Harris and Limestone round out the top four respectively, while Coker is just ahead of Francis Marion, which finished sixth. Clayton State shares the No. 9 spot with the Royals.

With both Anderson and Queens in the weekly poll, Wednesday's match sets up a meeting between two of the top teams within the Southeast Region. Kickoff from Charlotte is set for 5 p.m.
