Men's Soccer Places Four Players On All-CVAC Team

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Four members of the Anderson University men's soccer team were named to the All-CVAC team Friday night. Four All-CVAC players is a single-season record for the Anderson program. Defender Rayon Markland, midfielder Lahnden Onger, and midfielder/foward Jordan Kelly all were named to the second team, while goalkeeper Andy Barth received honorable mention honors. Markland, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound freshman from Bull Bay, Jamaica, played in all 19 matches. In addition to anchoring Anderson's defense in the back, he scored three goals and had one assist. Onger, a 5-9, 165-pound sophomore from Abilene, Texas, scored three goals and four assists in 19 matches. Onger made the second team as a freshman and was named the CVAC Freshman of the Year. Kelly, a 5-11, 170-pound freshman from London, England, led Anderson in scoring with 10 goals and five assists for 25 points. Four of Kelly's goals were game winners for the Trojans. Kelly scored seven goals during Anderson's four-match winning streak at the end of the regular season. Barth, a 6-0, 180-pound senior from Fenton, Mich., made 58 saves and finished the season with a record of 8-3-1. He allowed 20 goals in 1117:02 for a goals-against average of 1.61.
