Queens Advances On Penalty Kicks

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- After a scoreless 110 minutes, top-seeded Queens University of Charlotte beat Anderson University 3-2 in penalty kicks to advance to the semifinal round of the 2006 CVAC Tournament Wednesday night. "We played amazing soccer," said Anderson head coach Rob Miller. "It was either team's game. It was a very emotional match. Our players are extremely disappointed, but they realize they played a very high level of soccer. "It was a hard-fought match back and forth. Both team had their chances." Queens, 11-4-1 overall advances to face St. Andrews Presbyterian, 13-6-1, in the semifinal round this weekend at Mount Olive. Anderson's season ends at 9-9-1. 2006 Anderson Men's Soccer Statistics
