EASLEY, S.C. - The Anderson University men's golf team moved up one spot to claim fourth place at Southern Wesleyan's Mutts Invitational, hosted at the par 72, 6,796 yard Smithfields Country Club.
Southern Wesleyan won the team title with a total 579, which was 27 shots ahead of second-place Emmanuel (606). Southeastern University (610) took third, with Anderson (625) marking the largest improvement of the eight-team field and moving up to third, three shots ahead of Tri-County Tech (628) in fifth. Cape Fear Community College (645) claimed sixth, while Truett-McConnell (653) finished 16 strokes ahead of Virginia-Wise (669) to claim the seventh spot.
The Warriors' David Brown (68-71=139) won individual medalist honors with his 5-under-par, while Anderson's Sean Shelton (72-75=147) carded a 3-over-par-72 to finish fourth.
AU junior Arran Setro (77-74=151) finished four strokes further back in a three-way tie for ninth, while Payden Parrish (83-80=163) shared 26th. Rob Warren (86-78=164) finished in a three-way tie for 28th and sophomore CJ Messana (91-86=176) concluded the tourney in 39th.
Anderson concludes its fall season at this weekend's Lincoln
