Men’s Golf Finishes 10th at Flagler’s Jay Jennison Memorial

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Junior Sean Shelton fired a final round 7-over-par 79 to lead the Anderson men's golf team for a second straight day, as the Trojans wrapped up Flagler's Jay Jennison Memorial in 10th place Tuesday at The Palencia Club's par 72, 6,944 layout.

Anderson slipped 16 shots from Monday's second round, but still held onto the same position as the team held at the start of the day, with all but three teams in the field also posting higher scores.

Armstrong Atlantic (285-300-298=883) snapped an opening day tie with Barry University (294-291-302=887) to claim first place, while Coker (302-304-299=905) moved into third, while Newberry (294-300-317=911) slipped one spot to fourth. The Trojans (320-310-326=956) finished 25 strokes behind ninth-place Lander (306-312-313=931) and 19 shots ahead of Flagler "B".

Shelton (80-75-79=234) moved up two spots to share 30th, while junior Arran Setro (80-77-80=237) finished three shots further back in a tie for 43rd. Sophomore CJ Messana (84-77-81=242) notched his second-best score of the two-day tourney and tied for 48th, with Rob Warren (76-88-86=250) tying for 56th. Payden Parrish (95-81-96=272) finished in 64th.

The Trojans return to action, Oct. 8-9 at the Southern Wesleyan Invitational.
